I got this mainly because my cat has no sense of appropriate meal times, and I was done being her alarm clock at sunrise. After using it for some time, I'm not sure why I waited this long.
Setup was straightforward - the app guided me through it, and connecting to WiFi went smoother than I expected. Scheduling meals is simple, and I can tweak portion sizes if I'm running late or if she seems hungrier than usual. The low-food alerts have been useful too - got a heads-up before I would've noticed on my own.
The camera quality is better than I thought it'd be. It covers most of the feeding area with a clear picture, even in low light. I've checked in from work a few times and caught my cat just sitting there, staring at nothing. The two-way audio actually works—I've called her over when food drops, and she responds to it.
The feeder comes apart easily for cleaning. Food stays fresh without developing that stale smell some dispensers get. No clogs or missed feedings so far, even with kibble that's not perfectly uniform. I put in backup batteries as a precaution, though I haven't needed them yet.
It's been reliable and takes some stress out of being away for the day or traveling. My cat has fully accepted her food robot, and I can sleep past 6 a.m. now, which makes it worthwhile on its own.
